The Rubaiyat – Omar Kayyam

Omar Kayyam is one of my most loved poets after Pablo Neruda, every time I have read The Rubaiyat I discover a whole new dimension. As with roots of the Redwood and all true passions, it only grows deeper with time.

Through out the verses the strongest message he conveys seems to be to live today as it is your last, it gives me motivation to take the leap, to stop procrastinating and indeed reminding that today might actually be the last day you’d live. The message is strong and powerful but the best part of the verses is that there is a hidden romanticism associated with it,.as if one looks forward to his or her last day with a sense of fulfillment of this life on earth.
